Description

Gary's has been serving homemade ice cream in this small stand on the Lowell line since 1973. There are no seats, so patrons must either take the ice cream home, or eat in the parking lot.

Have Loved Them for Years
I've been going there since they opened and I'm now 32. I don't live as close now, but I try to make a trip a few times a year. They are pricey, but they have generous portion sizes. Once a couple of years ago, I got a hot fudge sundae (I'm a hot fudge addict) and the hot fudge was awful. Uncustomarily for me, I wrote a letter because I was so disappointed. I received a call from Gary personally apologizing, explaining that he had a quality issue with one of his long time suppliers and he had since changed suppliers. He then sent us several coupons. The phone call alone would have made me go back. And when I went back, the quality was back. I love them and it always brings back fond memories of my trips with my mother.    [24 Apr 2006 15:06:01]
