Good Portions but Horrible Decor I visited the place for the first time ever. Even though I live about 5 minutes away. I was startled at how horrible the decor was. I felt I was trapped in the 80's with that black smoky marble and mirrors. I don't know if its a MA thing but coming from NY city, we don't like to stare at ourselves while we eat. The horrible drapes with the X-mas lights on, as soon as our food came, we got it to go.
The Food. Although the portions were tremendous, some of it was hit and miss. The stuffed lobster with a scampi angel pasta was not to good. The pasta was mushy. The sausage cacciatore was bland, the onions were overcooked and tasteless, and the pesto, where's the pesto?
Overall I will go again to give it another try but for take-out only. [03 Sep 2003 18:53:15]

Super Food We live in Cohasset and dine at Di Nero's at West Corner often. Many of the portions are too large - but we've never had a bad meal.
The new owner is the process of enlarging the parking lot and the restaurant (which is always full). It's interesting to us that the owner's great (maybe there's anohter great in here) grandfather was the founder of Prince Spaghetti, Boston area. [17 Nov 2003 17:13:25]

Awesome Every Monday and Tuesday night Di Nero's has an Italian Night. They offer 3 main courses to choose from. Each dinner comes with a fantastic soup, antipasto, main course, and a dessert to die for. I would highly recommend this. The food is absolutely delicious, almost orgamsic. The price can't be beat at around $11.00. [17 May 2004 08:59:35]

Just Okay Food was okay, nothing special. Service was somewhat slow. Waitstaff was very nice. Lunchtime meals are a little pricey. [03 Feb 2005 12:21:36]

I Used to Work There I believe this is the old Lokie's property. I worked there during high school. The quality has always been very good, reasonable prices with a basic decor. The food is worth it. [19 May 2005 15:15:30]

Shrimp to Die for Service very good. Sat at bar - friendly crowd. Very pleased. On a scale of 1 to 10, give it an 8. [11 Jun 2005 09:49:33]

Total Disappointment Enticed by the tag line, "The best Italian restaurant south of Boston", my wife and I went to Di Nero's on Sunday 8/7/05.
We were shown to a table that had previous diners' bread crumbs on the carpet below in spite of a manual carpet sweeper in the corner.
Our sparkling mineral water turned out to be bottled by Aqua Health. The bottles were not sealed or capped but had the kind of tops that clamped on - so who knows what we were drinking!
The most disappointing was the meal - the pasta primavera was soupy and overpowered by far too much garlic. I had requested chicken to be added and the crumbed chicken pieces merely soaked up the "soup" turning the chicken coating into a soggy mess. Best Italian? I don't think so.
Our first experience will definitely be our last... [07 Aug 2005 20:18:47]
