Girard's offers a small dinning room of 15 tables covered with white linens and fresh flowers. A mix of jazz and blues plays throughout the candlelit room. The Library lounge is a 21 foot solid oak bar hand crafted by the Chef's late father. The room is decorated with candles, eclectic furniture, and bookcases.
The restaurant is also open on Sundays for private parties of 20 to 60 people.

Outstanding For those of us that enjoy fine dining, this is the place. Very nice, yet very casual. You can enjoy it in either a suit or jeans and a polo shirt. The food was cooked to perfection. The bison special was superb. We had Jeff Girard the owner select the wine and his taste was perfect. Very impressive for a date or just for that special dinner out. Not an everynite establishment but you must try to go at least once a month.
The lounge-bar area is cigar friendly with a relaxed but elegant atmosphere. Definitely a 5 star dining experience. [04 Mar 2002 17:51:33]

A Keeper Girard's is a real find here in Franklin. A small (40 seat +/-) true bistro with the chef/owner visiting each table between preparing each meal. Well thought out quarterly menu with 2-4 specials daily. All dishes paired with fine sauces and appropriate accompaniments. Current menu winners include stuffed lamb sirloin, lobster and asparagus salad, foie gras and of course their signature onion soup. [08 May 2002 09:15:36]

The Best Restaurant Girard's Bistro is our favorite restaurant. The owner - Jeff - is so gracious and has a nice touch of visiting each table to explain the specials himself. We have dined there at least 25 times and have never been disappointed - the food is divine. [01 Mar 2003 08:39:34]

Perfection Having eaten at Girard's several times (as well as having worked in the kitchen for a few years) I can firmly attest (my opinion of course) that Girard's is the best restaurant in Massachusetts. Found in the relatively small town of Franklin, Mass., Girard's could likely thrive in large urban areas i.e. Boston or NYC. Owned by sometime chef, sommelier, and all around good guy Jeff Girard, Girard's offers an elegant dining area as well as a cigar bar which is beautiful in both appearance and ambience. A biased opinion? Try this restaraunt and judge for yourself. Amazing. [21 Aug 2003 01:34:28]

Rude, Rude, Rude If you want to visit the most stuck up and rude place in town, this is the one stop you will have to make number one on your list. My husband and I wanted a nice romantic French dinner one night last year, so we heard that there was Girard's in Franklin.
We went inside and were tossed from one table to the next. Not wanting us to sit in the first table they rudely came over and asked us to move to another. At the new table, our server, who we believe is the owner's wife, was not attentive, and treated us worse then a chain restraunt employee on their first day. Then the food was nothing great. The creme bruele was horrible - not worth one penny in my opinion. [06 Jul 2004 12:41:39]
