Great Mexican Food on the North Shore Mexican food pretty close to how my mom cooks. Everything we've ever had here is good. I can't say it the best I've ever had (Mom would be upset if I did) but its certainly the best on the North Shore. The margaritas are good too. The posole is a great soup that will warm you up any winter day. Combine that with a margarita and you'll forget the howling storm outside. [05 May 2003 16:54:20]

Good Food at a Good Price We don't frequent Jalapenos enough. The food is always excellent and the staff is always pleasant. The prices are fair and we most always have to take some home with us. [26 Jul 2004 18:17:46]

Bad Taste After Fight A fight caused by patrons of Jalapenos (and obviously friends of the owner) ruined what should have been a wonderful evening. The fight was one thing, but when the owner ushered the perpetrators of the fight, who sucker punched an older man out front and then teamed up on his son, back into his restaurant and allowed them to continue drinking, I was totally turned off. I asked him before leaving if maybe he should eject (86) such customers; he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. An innocent man beaten up, his son beaten up, and the ones who started it sit down happily and enjoy the night? I`ll never return, and for those of you who do return, be careful! Those thugs may be sitting right beside you. [20 May 2006 09:56:07]

Response to: Bad Taste After Fight As a patron of Jalapenos on the night in question, I was standing in line waiting for a seat when unruly hooligans from the bar next door (Jazzy Joe's) continued fighting outside after causing an altercation inside. The so-called "friend of the owner" was also someone waiting in line who could not stand by and watch this father and son kick and beat up someone lying on the ground. The staff from Jalapenos came outside to break up the fight and protect their customers waiting in line.
When the police arrived they recognized the combatants (they actually called the father and son them by name) separated all involved and then dispersed the crowd. The person who helped out did then go into the restaurant.
The food is delicious. [23 Aug 2006 23:20:52]
