Have the Lunch Buffet
The lunch buffet is great and it's low priced. It is constantly restocked and includes things like crab Rangoon, fried rice, Peking ravioli, and vegetables to name a few. It also has desert including coconut soft serve ice cream. It is a must try but as a warning it is very sweet. It is decorated nicely as well.    [09 Apr 2003 13:18:04]

Not Impressive
I love Chinese food but have never been impressed at Hunan. The service is great but the food is mediocre at best and always makes me feel like I have a brick in my stomach afterwards. Some of our friends swear by it, but I am not partial to it at all.    [26 Nov 2005 14:24:34]

Love Hunan

Their food isn't gourmet, but is very good for a small Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. Try the lunch buffet for a self scoop ice cream stand with six different flavors! You won't be disappointed!    [27 Jan 2007 17:10:04]

Hunan Rules
Hunan is possibly the best Chinese food buffet in Massachusetts. The service is really good and the food is awesome. It's very cheap and it has a nice eating environment. If you want a nice lunch or dinner go to Hunan Kingston.    [07 Jul 2007 20:21:36]

Very Good Buffet.
We've lived in the area for 3 yr trying to locate a "good" buffet. We just tried Hunan due to the positive reviews. We've stopped looking as Hunan is so good. All the foods we tasted were "very very good". I tried the crab rangoon as a reviewer mentioned it. I got thirds. We are pretty picky and are so pleased to know there's a great buffet within 30 min drive. Hunan is located in the Stop and Shop strip mall as many Asian places can be. Easy to drive to and locate. We have already decided we are returning later this week for dinner. We haven't had good Chinese for so long we are going to make up for it now. Never Again.
Me and my family moved to Kingston from Rockland. It is our first time trying Hunan Kingston. The food was terrible. Everything was cold and the vegetable tasted rotting. Because the owner or manager was not available, we complained to the wait staff. His only explanation for the poor quality in the food is because the establishment is for sale management is does not want to spend too much money on higher quality food.
