I have been to Ken's on numerous occasions, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I found that some of the waitstaff is slow, but I have also had many good waiters. I consider the breakfast to be the best, the service and food is the highest quality.    [15 Jan 2002 08:46:24]

What Food?
Went to Ken's for lunch with 5 co-workers. Everybody got their food but they completely forgot my meal. After waiting patiently (while everybody else ate their mediocre lunches) the waitress finally shows up(we were in a room separate from everybody else) but pretends to know nothing about my order. In fact, she pretends that she wasn't even our waitress. By this time it was time to return to work so I had no lunch. I'd like to say something good about the food but I never got to try any! This is the second time here, and neither time was the service very good.    [03 Jul 2002 13:56:04]

Great
WE ate there twice on a trip going to and coming from our vacation in Maine.

Wonderful lunches both times. My husband said the Key Lime pie was the best he ever tasted.    [06 Aug 2002 11:16:12]

You Need to Know This
Six of us went for a birthday party last night.

My wife ordered plank filet and it was good. Two daughters ordered steak and lobster pie. The lobster pie was not edible and seemed very old. They did not eat it. The other daughter ordered salmon and said that it did not have any flavor. I ordered a steak with Montreal sauce. The steak had seasoning but did not have any sauce. The steak was good but not what was described on the menu. The sixth person ordered a steak, medium rare. It came well done and he returned it and got a credit.

The waitress, desserts and drinks were excellent. This is my third time at Ken's. The other two times were excellent. Have they changed chefs?    [09 Feb 2003 16:01:19]

Cut Rate Chicken Breast
Went there twice about 4 months ago...and ordered up a twin chicken breast entree. When the meal arrived, the chicken looked a little thin (literally sliced in half on the thickness). I mildly mentioned it to my waitress and was subsequently given the second breast without fanfare. The next time in the place about a week later I ordered the same entree again...guess what -- same slim pickin' chicken. This time I said nothing and have not been back since. How cheap can they be? If it were my restaurant I would err on giving too much than too little, and anyway always give what is expected. It is too bad because the place could have people waiting every day if they did the job right.    [29 Aug 2003 15:50:22]

Great Service
My wife and I had a so-so tasting meal - my burger was soaking in oil - but our waitress was excellent. Trish got us our food, drinks and dessert promptly. Might eat there again, as long as Trish is our waitress.    [27 Mar 2004 17:36:15]

Still the One
I worked in the area as a consultant in 1997 and dined at Ken's several times, always enjoying it. I've just returned there this evening and it was like returning to a old friend.

The service was very friendly and prompt. The breads are fresh (maybe baked on site) dinner rolls and banana bread. I had difficulty choosing among 6 delicious-sounding specials. I had the baked crab pie with redskin mashed potatoes - superb.

A great evening.    [09 Sep 2004 20:00:03]
