The Best Southeast Asian Cusine in the Area Excellent food, portions, and service. The restaurant itself is nothing special - just a Lowell storefront, but the food and prices more than make up for the atmosphere. []

Best Ever, Period I've been eating here for well over fifteen years - unbeatable, bold tastes. After having tried so many other bland Asian Restaurants around the country, there is only one place for me - The Southeast Asian in Lowell. I can't recommend this place enough. Service is slow when busy, but this isn't fast food. Be patient. If this food doesn't hook you for life, you've got a screw loose. [04 Aug 2003 17:02:56]

Excellent Food, Good Company This restaurant has a very large selection of Thai and Asian food. We often join our friends here when we come to town and visit. Usually we bring about 10 people and have a sumptuous meal. The more people you bring, the more delicious dishes you get to try. They have some of the best Asian food in the area. I would highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner... I know I will every chance I get :-) [25 Nov 2003 00:31:16]

Extensive, Wonderful Menu We've made this place a regular habit for several years and have told numerous friends about it. The fish dumpling appetizers are special and great for youngsters as well. They prepare the best squid dishes we've ever seen, cutting the meat in a clever way that makes it tender, not rubbery. [29 Dec 2003 19:34:56]

Love This Place I have been going to Southeast Asian Restaurant for years now. Not that I actually called it by that name. We know it as "Joe's Market Restaurant".
I live about about an hour away, been when I get a chance to make the trip, I do. Keep up the great cooking! [21 Feb 2004 15:00:34]

Something Changed About a Year Ago... Seems the menu was 'dumbed down' somewhat to accomodate the growing number of non-Asian diners at this restuarant. Some of the more adventurous and unusual dishes were deleted. The others seem to now offer less than their original care. Consistency seems lacking. So, while I once ate here as often as possible, it's now lower on my list. Too bad for a once great place that has forgotten its roots. [14 Jun 2006 16:25:14]

Very Impressive Let me just say that when the sign for the buffet says hot - it means hot.
There is an excellent variety of food in the buffet with some hidden gems in plain view. Who would think they could have such good chicken wings - some of the best I have ever had. You must know the place can get crowded towarrds the end of the week and surprisingly enough, the food seems to be better then. I believe it is due to the more frequent supplying of the buffet.
The food has been generally consistent and don't forget to ask for some peanut sauce for the table. [10 Jul 2006 13:12:16]

Recommended I read the reviews and was skeptical of the atmosphere. It's not a place to go if you're looking for ambience but the variety on the menu is wide. It was nice to try many new dishes that I've never had before. If you're the type looking for something new this will be a great treat! [29 Jul 2007 18:23:29]
