Best Sushi in the Area - Not To Be Missed My boyfriend and I are both lovers of sushi-- we are adventurous and have tried several sushi bars and restaurants around the Boston area. For a long time, we'd heard that Ginza (in Chinatown) was the best. And while it is good, Oga's is, in our opinion, the hidden gem of metro-Boston. Their presentation is lovely. The fish is delicate and full of flavor, the miso soup wonderfully soothing, and the atmosphere and service adds to what has honestly become our favorite place to go out to eat. The prices are essentially the same as any other Japanese restaurant with comparable menus.
For those not quite ready to try sushi, there are other wonderful Japanese dishes to try. I highly recommend starting with the gyoza dumplings (we get them pan-fried).
For a couple out on a dinner date, you cannot match the sushi and sashimi platter for two. It's become our staple every time we go out!
On top of it all, Oga's provides that one thing that Boston can't provide-- free parking. :) [17 Jul 2003 10:53:43]

Worth the Drive This place is amazing! We had heard about it but...who wants to drive to Natick? Oh my, is it worth it. From our very first visit and every one there after, our dining experience has been exceptional. This is the best sushi in the Boston area...and the kitchen is gourmet. The dishes that come to our table are such a step above what you would expect; it's breathtaking. [07 Jan 2004 18:25:13]

Very Very Goood Oga's is the best Japanese restaurant that I have ever been to, and that is saying a whole lot. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing, combined with its soft and soothing music. Also, the food is good; I must say that I enjoyed everything. The surroundings are clean and the waiters and service are very good. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. [12 Jul 2004 21:05:09]

OK After reading great reviews, I was looking forward to eating at Oga. I had a lunch Regular Obento Box ($15) there today. What a disappointment... I am a native Japanese, and I know much better Japanese restaurants elsewhere. Most of items in the box were mediocre. One of sashimi pieces was crap. I could not eat it. I could not believe they served it. No quality check. Green tea had a lot of powders (tiny bits of leaves), which tells me that they are using cheap green tea leaves. I thought Minado was mediocre, but after this visit, I will be sure to go to Minado for lunch for that price, instead of Oga. [22 Jun 2007 22:46:37]
