Description
Housed in an old school building, the Olde School Cafe offers a typical menu ranging from burgers to seafood to pizza. Menu items have "school" names. The fisherman's platter for example is called the "Principal".
The atmosphere is that of a family restaurant where both regulars and visitors are welcome, and is very informal. You are encouraged to sit wherever you please by the waitresses. Seating in the restaurant area holds approximately 40 people. The bar can accommodate an additional 20.
Constant banter by the waitresses leads to a feeling of eating with the family.

A Great Find Olde School Cafe is a comfortable, inexpensive and enjoyable restaurant. As soon as you walk in you are encouraged to, "sit wherever you want". The menu is varied and everything we have tried has been excellent. The waitresses are a blast. One in particular will entertain you all evening with her "sassy" attitude. She lets you know who is in charge! [24 May 2006 18:51:48]

Terrible Service 1. waited 35 minutes for a drink and then had to go to the bar and order it myself.
2. The drink order was wrong. Ordered ginger ale for one dining partner and chardonnay for another. Got a glass of chardonnay mixed with ginger ale.
3. My meal was totally wrong when it was served. I ordered baked fish and got fried. I sent it back and ordered a lesser meal because what I wanted would have taken 25 minutes or more. Everyone else would have been done by the time it came.
4. Had to ask for a glass of water four times. Finally went to the bar to get it myself.
5. After giving the waitress our credit cards to pay she did not come back for at least 15 minutes. Had to get the cards myself.
6. Waitress "split" a $99 bill with $44 on one card and $55 on the other.New Math I guess.
7. Left after one of the most bizarre dinners I have ever had. I will not be back.
Food was average, service was horrible, cocktails were wrong. [29 Jan 2007 15:37:53]

stunned first time customer
Going Downhill Was a reliable place with good food, large portions. Still has large portions, but a change in the kitchen staff has hurt. Recently went in for chicken parm with penne, got linguini. Sent it back...got soapy tasting penne. It was cold. Quietly paid and left. I was a "regular" at Olde School, but I think the owner has gotten lazy. I rarely go back for dinner. Still a good place for drinks and banter at the bar; however that is slipping also. [10 Oct 2007 22:40:19]
