Great Drinks, Reasonably-Priced Food
A great place that is well known to locals that has generous drinks (that come in pint glasses) and reasonably-priced food. Been a few times - most of the servers are great, although try to go when Judy isn't on (slow, inattentive service). The owner has great rapport with regular clientele.    [17 Feb 2004 14:44:03]

Best Food in Salem
For a small hole in the wall place, this one takes the cake. I have been several times--every dish I have tried is great. Service is great and the owner takes great interest in making his patrons happy.    [19 Oct 2005 22:09:51]

If You Are A Tourist - Don't Bother
We have recently done a fly/drive from the UK - from the top to bottom of the East Coast. Our stay in Salem was great but our experience at the Witches Brew was the worst during our holiday.

We don't know what our server's name was as she didn't tell us but we had the worst service we have ever encountered anywhere! The appetizer was served fairly quickly - entrée served halfway through our appetizer - dishes were not given to us even though we had ordered them...we could go on and on.

In short, unless you are a local give this place a miss. The waitress we had serve us definitely had a problem with 'non locals' and to be honest the food was really not that much to write about.    [30 Dec 2005 17:37:17]
