Gourmet Yet Not Stuffy eat serves the type of comfort food your mother would make, if your mother was Ruth Reichl. I've eaten there several times and have no bad memories. The menu is short and seasonal, heavy on basic items like Roast Chicken. It was easily one of the best chickens I've ever had. Portions are plentiful. Service is relaxed yet attentive. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're sitting in a living room, not a restaurant. All-in-all, it's a place I keep going back to for special occasions.
The only thing I don't like about this place is the ee cummings-esque lack of a capital- [18 Apr 2000 15:32:16]

Good Neighborhood Restaurant I like eat. But it is not "Gourmet." Recently I was served "Cod Tail" with the skin on - it was not good. Undercooked and hard to eat. I doubt that the cut of the fish preserved flavor; rather it ruined the presentation and overall experience. The food desperately needs to be more consistent; chicken dishes are routinely excellent and fish dishes are spotty. Even the steak and other chops can be fatty and poorly prepared.
