Beautiful Little Gem in Suburbia Since moving to the Boston area from London in 1990, I've been looking for Indian food that could live up to the standards that I'd come to expect from every little streetcorner Indian restaurant in the UK. Finally someone has done it and, even better, Rang Indian Bistro has done it with great style.
The decor and atmosphere is decidedly urban and modern and has a charming view of Central Square near the Stoneham Theater. The servers were a friendly bunch and handled our large group as effortlessly as if we had been only 2 instead of 9.
Rang's appetizer sampler was the perfect resolution to indecision. I would not have wanted to miss a single item on the platter. The Dal Makhani I ordered was a bit on the bland side; not in a bad way, but more in the manner of comfort food. It may have been mild but it was delicious and I would order it again if I were in the mood for something tasty and soothing. It was the perfect foil for the hotter Chicken Vindaloo. The wine list was impressive and seemed to be well thought out since the glass of red wine I ordered (Shiraz perhaps? Memory fails me!) held up well to all the assorted spices. On the whole, dining at Rang was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to return with my husband for a romantic dinner for two. [22 Mar 2006 10:31:09]

Worth Visiting Twice in One Week I didn’t even notice that Rang’s was there for four months. It is nestled behind the trees in Stoneham Square. I highly recommend a visit. The atmosphere is a relaxed but not to casual. The food was wonderful. I recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh or Bhana. [23 May 2006 21:59:08]

Good Vegetarian Selection I was very pleased with the courteous servers and the food. The cook was able to adjust a couple of the dishes so they weren't so spicy at my second and third visits. A cute little place, great for lunch or dinner. [06 Nov 2006 13:48:12]
