The tavern is a very friendly, family-oriented colonial restaurant - igougo.com, zabelle, 28 January 2004; user review - suggest change

Great View, Service and Food Horrible On a nice summer night, we went to Oxhead Tavern. While the weather was beautiful and waited for a table on the deck, our kids kept busy on the beach playing in the water. When we finally got to our table, about 5 minutes later, the server came over in a rush and said "What can I get you?" We ordered drinks and food for the children short time later. The soups and drinks came out for the kids, but we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. After receiving our drinks, the server quickly scurried off. We flagged her down about 10 minutes later to give her our order. We ordered a sampler platter and 3 orders of fish n chips...The sampler platter same out in a timely fashion, however the buffalo chicken tenders were undercooked which we sent back and received 10 min later. We received our fish n chips, fish tasted old...Not fresh..My son didnt finish the chowder as it tasted funny..I finished the chowder for him. At the end, the kids had dessert, sundaes which they loved. The check was "dropped" and we paid and left. The place was very busy, I give that and the staff seemed overworked. I do not write reviews but felt neglected throughout the entire night. To top it off, both my son and I woke up today with diareah! [16 Jul 2009 09:02:43]
