Description
Sturbridge Isle is a large facility, with several dining areas, a bar, video game room, gift shop and outdoor dining on the deck in season. They serve a widely varied menu comprising sandwiches and snacks, appetizers, and full meals. The Isle adjoins a busy truck stop, but that in no way detracts from the comfortable hospitality and family-oriented atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated, and there are ample parking areas outside each of the entrances. The grounds are interesting for children with ponds, walkways and resident ducks and swans. The restaurant is connected with the Sturbridge Quality Inn.

And We Thought It Was Just a Truck Stop A pleasant surprise. The meals were well prepared and delicious. Service was attentive and courteous. Dining areas, the bar area and restrooms were neat and clean. If fact, the whole place was well kept and clean. We took a walk around the pond and the kids had a ball feeding the ducks. A nice place with really good food certainly deserving another visit. [04 Feb 2000 10:07:24]

And We Thought We Were Going to Get a Good Meal We were at the restaurant on Sat. 9/14/02 at approx. 9:00 pm. We had been travelling for about 7 hours and finally got a room at the Quality Inn. This restaurant was close and looked very nice. My friend had liver and onions and the liver tasted like it was spoiled. The waitress never checked back with us to see if everything was ok, so we couldn't tell her. She showed back up with our check and at that point asked us if everything was ok. When my friend said the liver tasted bad. She said, "Huh, I wouldn't know I don't eat it."
When we paid the bill the hostess asked us and we told her the same thing and she said "Oh, that will be $20 and some change." No I'm sorry or anything, just "Oh." I know that it was late in the evening, but I don't think a smile and good food should be any less expected because of the time of day. We were going to go back for the breakfast buffet, but needless to say I would never eat there again and would not recommend it to anyone, even though my food was fine. I know that things happen, but I think we were treated poorly and no one cared that the food was bad. It might be just one incident, but the lack of respect we received is the reason I would never recommend it to anyone. [16 Sep 2002 15:11:51]
