Description
Serves American fare. There was a management change in late 2006, with the former owner of Madame's (the previous restaurant at this location) taking over.

Quality Dining in Upton The newly reopened Madame's Parlor restaurant is a significant step up from the previous incarnations. Excellent menu, solid bar.
Service was very friendly but on the slightly slow side.
The Caesar salad includes dressing made from scratch with egg yolk and anchovies. It's real and it's excellent. [Submitted 22 Apr 2006] [27 Nov 2006 16:36:01]

Terrible, Just Plain Terrible The formerly excellent Madame's restaurant now has new owners and is renamed the "Parlor".
We (party of 12) had reservations there for Sunday April 23, 2006 at 10:00 AM. We arrived at 9:45 and my only wish is that we had turned around and walked out.
Once seated it was impossible to get any service. We had both a waitress and a manager from hell. After about one and one half hours of frustration with empty promises from the manager we finally were served breakfast. That is after begging for hot coffee or just more coffee which never came. I dare not mention how long it took to get a glass of juice - and forget water, it is just not served.
To top it off, everything was ice cold including the eggs, ham, bacon, steak and pancakes that were half cooked and all doughy. Two of our party sent their order back, one was pancakes and the other an omelette. What did the cook do? He microwaved them. Yuk.
Needless to say, no one ate or enjoyed their meal. The two children with us were so sick and tired as well as hungry from waiting so long, they should be applauded for their good behavior.
You are asking yourself why we just didn't get up and leave. The answer is that we had just left a 2nd anniversary mass for the host's late husband and did not want to embarrass her.
By the way, one would think that the so called manager would have given some kind of incentive to the host to at least make an attempt to atone for this complete disaster. We were not looking for any freebies, just a good hot breakfast. A refund or partial refund was never even mentioned and I'm sure the host did not want to embarrass us by complaining. At this point we all just wanted out of there.
On the way out I asked the manager if the owners were in, and he said: "Oh no, they are absentee owners" My gut feeling is that they were down the street at McDonalds.
If you ever set foot in the Parlor restaurant, remember you were fairly warned not to.
Nobody in our party usually complains but I personally feel this story has to be told. [Originally submitted 24 Apr 2006] [27 Nov 2006 16:41:06]

New Owners, New Name, and Real Bad Very short review: We went there Sunday, April 23, 2006 for brunch. I am not going to go any further. Do yourself a favor and stay away. It has done a complete 180 degree turn from the previous super good restaurant, "Madame's". However if you want rude, slow, terrible service with ice cold eggs, pancakes, etc., you will feel at home at Parlor. [Originally submitted 24 Apr 2006] [27 Nov 2006 16:44:04]

Best Restaurant in Metrowest This is a very high quality restaurant with an excellent owner chef; dinners are superb and the atmosphere, cocktails, and decor are just wonderful. The previous writers obviously have no taste and are use to the "Friendly" type of food. This is upscale cooking at it's best; the unsophisticated should stay away and go to McDonald's. Those with refined palates will enjoy what the chef does here. [27 Jan 2007 16:19:55]

Best Restaurant West of Boston My wife and I often go to the Parlor restaurant since we live nearby. It has fabulous, creative food, wonderful cocktails and wine, great ambience, and just is a delightful dining experience all around. The owners work really hard to pay attention to detail and it shows. Prices are good for the superb quality of the food; the chef is so very talented and original. For instance, he makes homemade potato chip nachos. We often take friends there for their Saturday night jazz in the lounge and everyone is always impressed with this restaurant. Great Food, Great Place We've been to The Parlor a half-dozen times or so and it has always been great. Sophisticated menu, great wine list, very friendly staff.

From The Chef My name is Matt, and I am the chef of Parlor Restaurant and Lounge since September of 2006. I appreciate the reviews from our customers and would ask all those who have had a negative experience in the past to try us again.
My Sous Chef (Manuel Leon) and I have worked hard to not only improve and maintain the consistency of our dinner menu but also of our breakfast and lunch menus. We have worked closely with former Madame's owner Robert Stockton on returning to the classic consistency and quality of the food and service, while maintaining our modern creativity and passion for the very best of what we can do.
I apologize for any sour taste left from previous experiences with our establishment and invite you to try us again for the first time. [26 Feb 2007 22:46:17]

Love It We have been to the Parlor several times since it opened, and have always been exceptionally pleased with the creative food. The tasting dinner on Valentine's Day was to die for. Nice ambiance, too. Only once was our service a little slow, when we were tucked away in the side dining room, but overall they have been responsive and friendly.
Keep it up! [05 Apr 2007 11:17:10]

Wonderful Experience Truly a wonderful experience in our first visit to Parlor. We visited on Saturday evening and greatly enjoyed the food and the live jazz. I enjoyed the Lumberjack Sirloin, while my companion dined on what she said were delicious scallops. The bartender/owner Matt was a wonderful attentive host despite the busy pace due to the the steady flow of patrons. I am sure we will be going back soon! [23 Apr 2007 14:48:00]
