Good Food/Good Service I am visiting Waltham and have been to Jewel of India twice. The food is good. The service is good too. Regular people who will satisfy your appetite gracefully. No bells or whistles. I ordered baingan bharta, dal makhani and chicken. My Chinese friend just loved the bharta. [24 Mar 2006 19:19:45]

Worst Taste I went with my family to have the weekend buffet and it was raining heavily outside. I tasted the Naan with channa masala (chole) and it tasted very bad with raw chili powder taste. There was no other option as the other curry was frozen vegetable fry. Naan was not fresh and when we complained there was no response (at least they could have replaced the curry), even though they knew we are regular customers of theirs. So we left the restaurant paying the full amount without touching the food. It was really disgusting, wish not to enter again. [01 Nov 2006 17:56:56]

Worst Indian Food Yesterday went to Waltham for first time for shopping at Apna Bazaar. Then saw Jewel Of India across the street and unfortunately went inside and placed order as well.
On the menu cover south Indian food was mentioned, but they never prepare that. Then I ordered Malai Kofta, Tandoori Roti. Kofta was like frozen stuff, which you can cook at your home's convenience. Roti and Rice was half cooked. I should say rice was not at all cooked.
When I went to the manager to complain about the quality of rice, to my surprise he uttered "REALLY".
That's all. Will never ever recommend anyone to visit there even in dreams.
Hope my review will help others to choose something which is not Jewel Of India at Waltham.
