The Local Favorite, Always Made to Feel Welcome If we have to recommend a restaurant to friends, this one will always be a winner.
Arturo and his staff will always make you feel welcome, and the food is great. As regulars, we frequently choose the daily specials, and if you are lucky, the zuppa de pesce or the seafood lasagne will be featured. The pizza oven produces the usual, and gives you the opportunity for hot foccacia to accompany your meal. Ask for it!
The house salad is interesting (what, an interesting salad!). The antipasti is worth trying too. A good range of desserts is offered.
You have a choice of seating at the bar, at tables or in booths. Given a few days notice, Arturo will make sure he does your favorite special for you on request.
This is a family restaurant, as in "run by a family", and the ambience is good. Space between tables enough so you don't feel cramped. [21 Dec 2002 17:29:55]

Great Food at Arturo's My husband and I went to Arturo's in Westborough on a recommendation from a co-worker. We had an extremely delicious dinner. After sharing the antipasto [you see it when you are seated], my son had the tenderloin of the day, which was so tender; and I had a veal dish that was topped with eggplant, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, really good and different. They also have a great wine list. [16 Mar 2003 12:45:54]

Great Food My daughter's salad was excellent. The bread was excellent. My husband enjoyed the salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. I loved the eggplant parmesan. [20 Aug 2005 21:33:30]

Dinner for 3 for $150 We had dinner for the first time at Arturo's. The service was good, but for the price of the entrees and appetizers, I'm not sure I would return. The $12 sampler from the antipasto table was meager; "one of each item" was exactly right, as the waitress explained to my wife. I'm not sure a single portions of mozzarella and a small wedge of the frittata was the correct presentation for such an appetizer. My wife had a tuna steak, that while presented nicely, had an aftertaste. My son ordered the tenderloin special. It was a large filet with a nice sauce at $30. I had veal quattro stagione - the veal was nicely cooked, but the sauce was overly salty and contained too much oil or butter.
My only request visiting an Italian restaurant is good bread - Arturo's provides a home-made foccacia that was good, but the Italian bread was not crusty and may have been stored in a bag.
Judging from what others had, I'd have to recommend the more traditional Southern Italian dishes in the future.
We did not have dessert. Wines are expensive - bottles begin at $30 and small glasses are available at $6 and up.
Overall, Arturo's was pleasant, but not a good value at $50 per person without dessert. [23 Mar 2006 14:39:09]

It's our favorite "local" place. Staff is very friendly and very accommodating. Always save room for their delicious chocolate desserts. [03 Mar 2007 19:34:40]
