Great Food and Fine Service Stopped there in June 2002. Found that the food was excellent and the prices were competitive with other restaurants in the area. I ate there many times back in the early fifties. My mother worked there and I hung around the restaurant with the Rocco family children. Nice to see that the tradition of quality food and service has been maintained these last 50 years or so. [17 Mar 2003 13:16:44]

Bad Restaurant How can you open a restaurant as a chef and never cook in the kitchen? Eat at Rocco's, but he won't be cooking for you. Nothing like an untrained kitchen staff preparing your food. The service was atrocious and the food was even worse. [28 Jul 2003 08:58:40]

Good Food and Atmosphere I enjoyed the food. I thought the atmosphere was a little hectic but other than that I loved it. Try the meatballs. [11 Aug 2003 09:08:48]

Very Pleasant and Great Food Too Had the special rattlesnake pasta - partner had the friend shrimp. Both were excellent, exceeding expectations and for a reasonable price. Waiter was very prompt, thoughtful, friendly. Service was prompt although we arrived near closing time and bar area was busy. [24 Nov 2003 20:25:47]

Stay Away Ate there last night. Sat at the bar, had to move because we were apparently in the way of the hectic waitstaff.
Saw the owner come by the bar twice to refill his rum and coke.
Saw a patron's chair collapse and the waitstaff laughed.
Rude and unprofessional staff, mostly kids.
The place was filthy; they should clean the carpet once in a while.
Food was good. [29 Feb 2004 08:55:59]

Great, Great, Great The food was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. The main course was wonderful but the banana dessert with Italian ice cream was awesome. The staff was friendly. [18 Mar 2004 22:47:30]

Not a Great Choice I stopped in with my 8-year-old for Sunday lunch and ordered ribs. They arrived overcooked and tough; even my 8-year-old thought they were lousy. Asked for the manager who blamed a new change in meat provider. I didn't have to pay for the meal, but was very disappointed nevertheless. [20 May 2004 12:21:30]

We Loved It My husband and I and our 2 teenage daughters went and we all really enjoyed the food. No one complained, which was rare with my kids. Since reopening after the fire, the restaurant is very nice inside. We watched the Red Sox on the big screen TV. But if you would rather not, you can sit downstairs with the big floor to ceiling windows. [08 Oct 2005 19:48:49]

Not Worth the Wait, $ Better Spent Elsewhere We went there for dinner three times after it reopened in 2005. The first time the food was great and the service was fine. The second time there was a long wait. We ended up eating at the bar, but the service was horrible. The bartender was too busy doing a whole lot of nothing while he chats away with the other patrons. Shortly after, we took our out-of-town guest there for dinner. After waiting for a long time for a table, we got a poorly trained waitress. We ordered a moderately-priced wine, and it was a screw-top! To top off the night, the food took forever, and it was disgusting. Needless to say, the progressively worse experiences have kept us away from that place. [05 Mar 2006 14:15:00]

Very Very Good Anyone who says this restaurant his a bad choice must be a very picky person indeed. Very enjoyable, good service, and good food. Very family oriented. [07 Mar 2006 12:56:39]
