Overpriced and Underperforming Aqua Terra suffers from a social superiority complex that is not supported by its food or service. Although seemingly hip in appearance, the restaurant is a disaster. Dinner on March 6, 2004 featured a cool and inattentive attitude at the front door, overcooked lamb sloppily presented on the plate, and a total absence of bread (the manager explained that the restaurant was "too small" and had no space in the kitchen to keep bread). The tab for two people, with three glasses of wine between them and without dessert: Over $100. This was the worst restaurant experience I've had in ten years, in any city I've visited. We decided to dine at Aqua Terra because their menu appeared much more interesting than the surrounding restaurants. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, but the wait staff seemed to be in a huge rush to get us to order drinks and food.
The wine menu was priced high. A bottle of Geyser Peak Sauv. Blanc was $40 and the glass price was something like $12.
Their main courses come in two sizes: full and half size and amazingly the pricing equals the portion size. Multiple dishes sounded interesting, so we ended up ordering 3 small plates and 1 appetizer.
The beef satay appatized ($9) was boring as it had no real flavor, the seafood rissotto was quite sweet and tiny, the mixed grill was OK, and the thai pork didn't taste like the flavors had blended well.
Over all it was simply an OK meal at a high price. We spent $98 + tip for an unmemorable meal. Save your money and got elsewhere. [23 Sep 2006 17:53:20]

excellent experience Was surprised to read such negative things about this place after enjoying such an exceptional evening. The prime rib was the best my husband has ever had and the seafood rissotto was of the hook! Fresh baked bread with warm bread tiles was a supper neat idea. Service was top rate. They even escorted us to the restrooms instead of just pointing like most places. Can't say I've ever experienced attention like that. We felt like royalty. We highly recommend aqua terra to anyone.
