It was a thrill to find a restaurant around this area with good food. our experience there was excellent. Great views, with wonderful and helpful service. Oyster Stew is the BEST
I have not gone to Deep Creek in about 3 months but am trying to get reservations for this weekend. I noticed all these anonymous ratings and thought I would throw in a rating with a name. We have been to Deep Creek several times and always enjoyed the food and service. It rates highly with us and we are experienced diners (my best dining experience was Louie's Backyard in Key West). My Deep Creek favorite is their oysters and more oysters dinner (seasonal). The oyster stew was the best I had ever had. Give them a try. I rate them outstanding but, to be honest, there are changes I would like but, hey, it is a package. I ordered the seafood penne, whch was very good. My husband got the chicken penne. I couldn't figure out why he pushed all of the chicken aside until I tasted it-it was too tough to chew! The peanut butter/chocolate cake was delicious! Also, I am sensitive to smoke; when you enter the restaurant, you have to go past the bar. We were seated at a window and were quite comfortable for a while. By the end of the meal, the smoke had filtered over and it became a problem.    [30 Nov 2005 18:34:33]

Terrible service
I live in the area and have gone a few times for lunch during the week to Deep Creek without incident. Don't get me wrong, I am a loyal born and raised local, but I will never go to this restaurant again after tonight's experience. I don't know who to be more angry with, our waitress or the manager, but an hour into our meal (after it had taken 25 minutes just to get drinks) we have the manager arrive to tell us our waitress has encountered a family emergency but that she might be back and that our food was late (stating the obvious). Finally the appetizers come out shortly after, but drinks go unchecked. I don't know whether the waitress left without ever giving our (late) order to the kitchen, or whether there was a backup at the source, but all we could do was wait. The food was delicous, so no complaints there, but it took 1.5 hours to arrive, and we had three different people "attending" to us. Our waitress never as much gave us a hint of an apology, no discount or free dessert was offered, and nothing, not even the bill, was delivered in a timely fashion. I have worked in customer service, and I would never DREAM of treating customers this way, no matter whose fault it was or what the circumstances were. The waitress may have had an emergency, she may have been new, but there was no excuse for the manager allowing for such a blatant breach of customer service and for failing to handle the situation well. We have been back to Deep Creek several times since my original review. Always very good service and great food. The latest was about January 13 2007. As usual the food was great. In addition to oyster stew, the scallops were fantastic. Service was good.    [06 Feb 2007 10:00:07]

The Best!!
My family & I have been dining at Deep Creek Restaurant for many years & it is our absolute favorite restaurant. We have alot of our family events at Deep Creek (i.e. Birthday & Anniversary Celebrations)& find that no matter what we order, it is wonderful! The Seafood Penne is a favorite, along with the Teriyaki Tuna & Jambalaya. Special Events Restaurant
My husband and I consider Deep Creek Restaurant our special occassion restaurant. I love their salmon strudel and my husband enjoys their clams casino and filet Milano. A few times we have had bad service - i.e. a nervous new waiter or under staffed wait staff; but that hasn't stopped us from returning.    [13 Feb 2008 13:05:27]

Pleasant Surprise!
I had never been to Deep Creek Restaurant. We took my mother there for Mother's Day and was pleasantly surprised. My mother had the salmon and she said it was the freshest she had ever eaten at a restaurant. The cream of crab soup ranked in my top five of the best I have ever tasted. My Tilapia was good, but not memorable (I added a little Sherry and it made a big difference). My son said the filet mignon was very good and my wife and sister said the seafood pene was good as well. My dad enjoyed the stuffed flounder.

It is a casual and relaxed dining atmosphere, but also a place for special occasions. Our server, Megan, was the best. She was extremely pleasant and got every order perfect (party of 10). The hostesses were very friendly. Our 5 kids gave it a thumbs up as well (ages 4 to 17). It's not quite "gourmet" food, but it is as close as you get for a reasonable price, comfortable atmosphere, excellant service and great views of the creek.
