If you have the patience of a saint... Food: The food was good. My meal itself I thought was delicious but my dining companion's meal was lack-luster, although edible. The Amaretto dessert consisting of chocolate mousse with a hint of amaretto was good and enjoyable but not what I would imagine for the "speciality of the house".
Service: Terrible. We had an 8:00 reservation on a Saturday night. We were seated by 8:40. We were left with nothing, not even water or menus for a good fifteen minutes even after repeated requests to servers running by. Once menus and water was acquired another 20 minutes passed before our orders were taken by a rushed, and rather rude man. After dessert our empty plates were left on the table until our bill came just short of 30 minutes later. (Repeated requests were made). We arrived at promptly 8pm and were out by 11pm, after only having two courses. On the way out the manager came up to us as asked if there was a mistake because we only left a 10% tip. We said no, and she looked at us, scowled and walked away.
Ambiance: Beautiful pale yellow walls, with gorgeous roses on every table. Cozy and romantic, but the bathrooms are not made for larger people.
Overall: The food was good, but the portions were small and not as good as the prices would suggest. Although romantic and pleasant for a date, the service was terrible. If this was the best food I had ever tasted I still wouldn't have put up with the service and go back. Yet, the food is just good, therefore never again [02 Feb 2004 03:53:43]
