Not what it used to be
I was looking for a good German restaurant, and most of the reviews seemed to indicate this was it. Alas, most of the reviews were out of date. Only one gave a hint of what was in store: The previous German Cuisine has been "updated" to Continental.

In other words, they've changed the kitchen - and not for the better.

The menu *sounds* interesting, but everything is bland and tasteless. This chef does not understand the use of seasonings. Even the bread tasted like raw flour (a little salt helped), and we had to beg to that. And the only trace of German cuisine was the plate of sausages.

The best thing going for it now is the decor. If only the food was half as tasteful. And half as expensive - dining here is EXPENSIVE. Much of the menu is devoted to a wine list where the majority of bottles cost over $100. That makes it very expensive, indeed, to make the food taste good.

It remains locally popular. The competition is a pizza parlor and a fast food hamburger joint, after all. We made reservations, but when a local couple pushed past us, they were given our table and we were asked to sit at the bar. We waited for another table - we should have left.
