Tapas, Tapas, Tapas, you can't go wrong! We introduced our food loving friends to Isabella's during lunch last week. They had never had Tapas and weren't sure what to order and asked us to order for them. We mixed old favorites, daily specials and first time items from the never ending menu. As always the food was fantastic. We had too many dishes to describe each and I'm not a cunning linguist so I will not try. My only suggestion is that they serve even numbered portions for all at the table to sample. For example we ordered an oyster tapas and only three were served. This made it difficult for two or four of us to sample. We usuallt resolve this by double ordering our favorites. The service is excellent and the price is fair ($115 for 4 people including top shelf drinks and tip). Let me end here by saying you are missing out on a true Frederick gem if you haven't eaten at Isabellea's. [02 May 2005 21:52:48]

Terrible experience My wife and I visited Frederick for the first time. We were excited about trying different restaurants. Someone had recommended Isabella's, so we decided to try it. When we walked in, the hostess was not at her post. We looked around and asked a gentleman where we could be seated. He said in broken english, you need to wait for the hostess. She was pleasant and seated us at a booth. My wife and I were unaware that it was happy hour and we could have had a free buffet and half price wine. She did not inform us of this. The waiter was impatient with us in regard to us taking too much time to make decisions. He said..I will come back..not helping with any suggestions. We were given a specials menu which consisted of a selected group of Tapas to order..He said..these are our most popular. I do have to say, it was very stressful eating there with the waiter that we had. Both of us decided to go to another restaurant for dinner, still hungry after getting very small portions of the Tapas that we ordered. Good..but very small. [03 Aug 2006 13:05:22]

Eat fast After having an enjoyable meal with some friends, we were chatting after dinner. Other tables were empty around us and people near us had been there as long as we were. The owner came up to us and offered to buy us a drink at the bar because he needed the table for reservations. I have never experienced this in a restaurant before and after reading some reviews at other sites about the rude service, I now know where it stems from. Good food only goes so far, service is just as important. I am not impressed. [10 Mar 2007 21:07:35]
