Consistent Italian fare

Hidden Italian Wonder!
From what I understand, Amalfi's has been around for just under 30 years with the same owner, which I think is impressive. I did not even knew they existed until several months back, when my co-workers brought me there for lunch. Great atmosphere, really friendly people, and delicious food. I brought my Grandmother there, who is 100% Italian, and she has made a point to go back just for the calamari! It was so good, I ended up having my Wedding Rehearsal Lunch there, and all my guests enjoyed themselves    [10 Nov 2004 15:26:34]

Best Italian Food in Maryland!
This place is great! A bit hard to find, and a little lacking on the curb appeal... But the food is absolutely delicious and the service is always perfect. The White Pizza with Cheese is incredible (must try) and the gnocchi is sooo tender - it melts in your mouth. It looks like they also upgraded their wine list, which was needed. Call ahead and get directions - you'll be glad you did as we almost got lost the first time we ventured out there.    [16 Dec 2004 18:21:23]

It's Italy in Rockville
This place has great authentic Italian food which has been harder and harder to come by. They are not a franchise, which is always welcome in my book. When you go, be sure to order the white pizza with cheese (you can't find it anywhere else like they do it). Other favorites of mine include eggplant parmesian, seafood platter, and of course, their tiramisu. Yum! Great Food with Great Service
Great white pizza with cheese, loved the chicken parmesian (except I like mine with less cheese on it), and you got to have the almond cream cake for dessert. Our server was really friendly, and knew everything on the menu front-to-back. (We started having fun testing him on dishes). My husband was in the mood for something not on the menu, and the server told us we could challenge the chef and ask for it anyway. While the end result wasn't exactly what my husband wanted - it turned out to be better than what he had in mind. Kudos to the Amalfi Chef(s)!    [13 Feb 2006 12:50:15]

Best Italian Food in Rockville!!
By far the best Italian food I have eaten in this area, their bread is unbelievable, crusty and very light! It really says something about the bread when the crust is equally enjoyable as the center. Amalfi Saved my Surprise Party
My daughter recently planned a surprise party for me at Amalfi in Rockville. She reserved the private dining room for our planned party of 15 (the room holds 35, I think). Unfortunately, we were off on the head count and 28 people showed up (almost double)!! The Amalfi staff and management handled it very well, and seemlessly... before my daughter could even say anything to the staff, they had noticed the increased attendance and printed up the additional copies of the customized menu for our group, brought out additional appetizers, and had us seated in no time - all on a already busy night. I've been coming here for almost the entire time they've been open. Like everyone else, I must recommend the white pizza w/cheese...it goes great with an order of white beans. The eggplant parmigiani is always excellent. Attentive staff, friendly. Definitely a favorite!    [23 Jan 2007 13:01:49]
