The Seafood Bisque is to die for. Even in the hot months, you can't start your meal without the bisque. I have been going for over 20 years and the food is consistently good! You can't lose with anything you order (my favorite - crabmeat norfolk). [21 Jan 2003 17:00:47]

Still serving terrific seafood Crisfield has not dropped the quality of its food at all based on my last trip there. And most importantly, it still had the seafood bisque which is one of my favorite 'soups' anywhere in Maryland. Problem: location. PLEASE MOVE OR OPEN UP A THIRD PLACE [23 Jan 2003 11:46:32]

Only If You Know Seafood Crisfield (the original) kept its 1930s decor and its slavish devotion to the pure seafood altar. It offers the best Chesapeake seafood in 50 miles especially for those not able to make the trip to Cantler's Riverside Inn in Annapolis. Further north on Coleville Road sits another "Crisfield" Restaurant (in the Blair Building across from the AFI Silver Theater). That restaurant (started by some offshoot clan) provides 4-star seafood and a little more upscale trappings. The original at 8012 Georgia Avenue provides 5-star seafoo [21 Apr 2003 15:10:17]

Colesvill Crisfield is not Owned by the Real Crisfield The real Crisfield (on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring) sold its name to the start up Crisfield on Colesville.
The people at the original Crisfield now say that they wish that they had never done so. The food at the original is vastly superior to the food at the newer Crisfield. [09 Jul 2004 13:48:20]

The Best Crab Norfolk in DC, MD, VA Absolutly the best I have found in over thirty years. Crisfield's (The one on GA Ave.)has not changed in all that time. And I include most of the staff along with the decor, which some say reminds one of a gas station service bay. None of which in any way effects the wonderful food and generally excellent service. There Is Only One!!!!!! There is now only the original Crisfield at 8012 Georgia Ave. The late and failed experiment at Lee Plaza (Colesville Rd.) closed in the summer of 2004. The original still serves the freshest Flounder (fileted on premise) and its signature stuffed shrimp and seafood bisque. Tuesday through Sunday in the heart of Silver Spring. They celebrate 60 years in September of 2005, here's hoping they have another 60 years ahead of them. [17 Aug 2005 03:48:12]

Crisfield Inn // A beacon on Ga Ave I was 14 years old when the Crisfield Inn first opened. My Dad, was a businessman in D.C. and would often drive north on Ga Ave to cross E/W Hyw to our Chevy Chase home. Shortly after the opening, he took the family there - and in the ensuing years, whenever I return home from my various locations overseas, I ALWAYS stop at the Crisfield. I always carry some of their cards in my wallet and when I find a cohort is going to D.C., I give him one and promise to pay for his dinner if he does not think it is the best. It is such a comfort to step inside and see the same decor that was there 60 years ago -- I even think that some of the same waitress's are the same. I LOVE IT [27 Apr 2006 15:08:56]
