Our New Favorite Restaurant!!!
Although we vacation in Bar Harbor every 4-5 years, we had never heard of this restaurant. It was only by accident that we found their website/menu on the Internet. This restaurant has been in Bar Harbor for 17 years and is the best kept secret in Bar Harbor. The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. We were seated in their garden area on the first floor porch. After a long day of hiking through Acadia National Park, their blueberry daiquiri sure did hit the spot -- thick and rich, topped with heavy whipped cream and a sprinkling of blueberries on the top. Their entrees were terrific -- I highly recommend the Lobster Brandoni (huge, plentiful chunks of sweet lobster baked in a casserole with crab & shrimp seafood topping). Dinner came with potato and vegetable (the broccoli with vinegrette. My husband had the scallops, and he also enjoyed his dinner very much. Make sure you save room for dessert. There were so many good choices on the dessert menu that it was hard to narrow it down to one. He had the blueberry pie (huge portion served in a large bowl with vanilla ice cream) and I had the chocolate coconut cheesecake (tastes just like a Mounds bar only better). Next time, I plan to try the Jack Daniels chocolate pecan pie. In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Bar Harbor and we plan to come back next time we're up here. Five stars for the wait staff too, very attentive, friendly, and accommodating.    [20 Jul 2003 10:37:24]

Overrated by many
I thought that this restaurant was overrated. Many people rave, but the food lacked in my opinion.    [17 Sep 2003 13:35:26]

Wonderful!
I visit Bar Harbor every autumn. Poor Boys is the place I HAVE to eat. The food is fantastic, and I have never had bad service. I know that many locals eat there too. Don't miss this place.    [06 May 2006 23:41:25]
