Braised Ribs Anyone?
The visit to Bar Harbor was very nice except for one experience at a popular restaurant called Rupununi. Maybe my girlfriend and I made the mistake of ordering the wrong thing, but the "Braised Ribs" was downright disgusting. Try having two country ribs thrown in the middle of mashed potatoes covered with "pot-roast" like gravy. Not a nice way to make "ribs". The taste was bland and the meat was covered with fat. Our appetizer was uneaten also. We had the impression that we were ordering garlic chicken wings. We ended up with Buffalo wings covered with garlic. We stated that we did "not" want Buffalo wings to our waitress. After knowing we weren't happy with the wings, our servers attitude changed and made the experience that much worse. The place looked ok visually, but why would they have this disgusting dish on their menu?    [23 Oct 2004 09:45:27]
