Consistently good food and service. By far the most popular restaurant/bar in town. Quite a varied menu, with something for everyone. [01 Apr 2005 18:53:14]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: The Fried Lobster Ravioli appetizer is fabulous and unusual. For dinner, I regularly get their Pad Thai, also the Black Bean Enchilada is very good. Good Burgers and Chili too.

Darbys earns its praise I moved recently to the area and had asked many coworkers which place we should eat first-- hands down, the answer was Darby's.
Having tried it (twice) in our first week, we both agree it's everything people said it was. The food is unique and clearly made with care (the french fries are handcut, for instance).
The menu is varied to the point that you could literally come to Darby's regardless of what kind of cuisine you're pining for. The food and drinks are served in varied dishes by smiling, patient staff. The walls are covered in fascinating art, pictures, and curios. Fresh flowers adorn the original (the whole place creaks of history) tables and my visiting mother delighted in putting fresh mint in her tea.
We'll be going back many times, I have no doubt. It's conveniently located by the theater (another article in itself!), as well. I'm sure we'll see some of you there! [09 Jul 2006 12:32:26]

Food Consistent and Excellent We live in the area and have probably eaten at Darby's 20+ times. We have yet to experience a bad meal. The food is always excellent, and as the other reviewers have mentioned, there is quite a selection.
We keep going back because the food is good but also because there are no other restaurants downtown that can compete.
There are however a couple of issues I'd like to mention.
#1. Please, please, please change your menu. It's been the same stuff for three years now. It's time for an update. If you haven't eaten here before, it's really not a problem. But for the locals with limited choice of dining venues in the area, it gets a bit boring.
#2. When you have a board in the entranceway telling people to wait to be seated, please have the courtesy to have someone available to do the seating. We have waited up to 10 minutes for someone to greet us. We have walked out twice for waiting too long. Now we are used to it and usually go through to the bar and show our faces so they know we are there. The servers generally will greet you but don't do the seating. They'll say hello but leave you standing there. It's quite frustrating.
Overall, the food is great and the staff are generally attentive if not overly friendly (smiles don't cost anything). [26 Nov 2007 12:35:29]
