Description

If you're looking for a popular Belfast gathering place, look no further. Since 1972, Rollie's has been serving up great food and drink in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere reminiscent of the old neighborhood "Cheers" bar. You may recognize its interior, as Rollie's was a setting for "Thinner", a Steven King film. The vintage bar itself is off of a sailing ship lovingly moved onto land and preserved. For the sports fans out there, we have all the televised sports packages: football, baseball, basketball, Maine Black Bears, NASCAR, golf, wrestling and boxing Pay Per Views. If your sporting event is not being shown on the 63" Plasma TV, do not worry because we have four other televisions to select from. We also have a pool table, two video games, and NTN Trivia. Please take your time and check out our site, take a look at our menu, and then please come join us for some great food and fun.

Great Old Time Pub
My wife and I stopped in while visiting mid coast Maine. This place is like the Cheers everyone wishes was just around the corner. Great job in service and food. Thanks for the great time.    [30 Jan 2005 10:26:09]

Good, greasy food cheap.
Small dive bar with strong drinks and excellent, greasy diner food.
I eat at Rollie's at least once a week.
Cheeseburgers are moderately large, probably a 1/3 lb before cooking, and cost less than $4 with hand cut deep fried fries. The fries are often slightly undercooked and soaking in grease. Frozen crinkle fries are available on request and are much less greasy -but don't be a friggin' wuss. Get a side of gravy.
A delightful sandwich is a piece of white fish (haddock) that is about three times the size of the hamburger bun it is seved in, battered and fried.
The steak sandwich is also a dinner size steak portion between a rapidly dissolving bun.
The chili sucks unless your idea of chili is ground beef with beans.
Good, fresh crabmeat in a roll, 5 to 6 bucks. I'm guessing a quarter to a half pound of actual crab meat, sans mayo and not resting on a bunch of iceberg lettuce to seem like more,
Pizzas are good - one size, probably 14 inches or so...    [27 Oct 2003 12:27:09]

A Red Sox Bar, Yankees fans need not apply
Service is very good and sometimes very funny, especially on Friday nights. Families are welcome and environment for them is just fine up until 7-8pm, after that, you take your chances, especially on weekends. The food is, unfortunately, very inconsistent. You can get a great BLT one day and a lousy one the next. Chili should be used as spakle for the walls. Not a burger eater myself, but hear they are great. All the drinks you could every want, including drinkable bubbly-Korbel. Lots of tvs. People can smoke on an outside deck. Clean bathrooms. Not for the fainthearted after 10pm. If you want a greasy food, great ambience, good service, huge servings sports bar, this is the place for you.    [06 Jun 2007 07:54:16]

Wow there are 2 Rollie's now!
Rollie's in Belfast has always been a great place to hang, meet old and new friends. Have a drink or 3 and enjoy a meal. Through the years and new ownership I believe, Rollie's is constantly improving and making changes for the better. And now they even have a new location in down town Searsport. I visited the other day and was very impressed. Much larger area, plenty of seating and a great outside area for smokers and non-smokers. The food was great, the drinks weren’t weak, and all was served with a smile. While there I was informed by the extremely pleasant staff of their upcoming promotions, giveaways, and coming soon Tuesdays Trivia. The trivia is what appealed most to me personally. I can't wait to join in on July 8th for their first trivia night and if I am lucky even win the cash prize. So if you are in the mid-coast region, I highly recommend you stop into one or both locations. Always a great time at Rollie's for all ages.    [02 Jul 2008 19:04:46]
