Beautiful RoadSide Respite
If you happen to be traveling up or down the Maine coast on Route 1 in the warmer months, the picturesque town of Wiscasset is certainly worthwhile to explore, especially if you are hungry. Right there on the Main Road, within a stones throw of the Sheepscot River, is the famed roadside diner named Red’s Eats. They are famous for their lobster rolls, each is claimed to harbor just a bit over a whole lobster within the bun. They are not cheap, but probably one of the best lobster rolls to be had in all creation. Their other fare is not so shabby either, with hamburgers, hot dogs, and fried seafood such as their batter-fried Maine clams. There are very few things better than kicking back on a warm summer day, with a Red’s Eats lobster roll in your hands, and just watch the river (or the mechanical and human traffic) flow by.    [26 Aug 2006 23:35:21]
