2 strikes- you're out!
We recently have twice driven a distance to get to Mountain Jack's in Traverse City because it has great views of the bay and I have good memories of the old Mountain Jack's in Lansing with excellent food. Both recent visits proved less than a good experience. This last visit we did encounter a great waiter, but the food was less than expected.

The first trip was for a birthday celebration, it was dinner time. With a party of four, three of us got cold, undercooked food, the silverware, although wrapped in a nice cloth napkin, was dirty, not once but twice. We did say something and were given a gift certificate to try again.

We did. This time we had the Sunday brunch because we had heard that is something Mountain Jack's does well.
Again! Dirty silverware, this time three sets before we got to a "clean?" set, the food on the buffet was "ok" but not of the standard I would expect from a high-end resturant. The bacon was all broken pieces, the hot dishes were at best warm, empty dessert dishes sat for the entire time we were there without being removed from the dessert buffet, there was very little selection, the biscuits were cold, the sausage gravy had sat so long it was cold and CRUSTY. This restaurant in my opinion is NOT high end.

The only positive to the buffet visit was our waiter. A nice young man, pleasant.

I will not be back.
