I've been going to the "Big River Grill" for years and enjoying the view of the "big river" with the passing ships seemingly close enough to hit with a rock. The building is a little rough after multiple poorly done additions and the furniture and carpet are shot too. Needs a *major* renovation at least, better yet, tear it down and build anew, the location is worth it.

The food is good and well-presented and the service is always very good. Various fish dishes and pork especially good. If you like your salad made with crisp iceberg lettuce, pass on theirs... they switched to "weeds" a couple years back. yuck.    [22 Jun 2006 22:27:06]

I agree with every point "Anonymous" said above... the view, the building, the food, the service, and even the "weeds".

I'll add some comments on the food: While I do like their fish dishes, I usually go there for their pizza. It's milder then most, and has a certian hame-made quality to it that I enjoy. I've only tried steak there once and it was pretty tough. Didn't do it again.    [07 Jan 2007 22:15:26]

It was our first time there and it was was a great experience. Our food and service was very good. I had a chicken salad and it was the best. My husband had the ribs and he thought they were very good. Also the spinich dip is very good. Highly recommend them.    [29 May 2007 13:28:56]

Great location on the river and great view! They always have very friendly/attentive waitstaff. Seafood and pizza is great. Pasta was very good too. I only tried a steak one time and it was a little tough, but one time isn't much of a sampling to make a judgement.
