A gathering point of Italians in AA...must mean something... Silvio has good pizza...that is, by Italian standards. The crust is dry and crunchy, the tomato sauce is fresh and tomatoey, the toppings are fresh and the combinations are simple but carefully crafted. Furthermore, the prices are good!
Of course, if you are a fan of the super-rich and greasy American pizza, you may not like this place.
HINT: if you are willing to wait the 10 minutes to get a personal pizza fresh out of the over for you, you will be rewarded! [07 Mar 2006 17:39:35]

Best Pizza in Ann Arbor Silvio's Organic Pizza is unique in two areas: First, they serve REAL ITALIAN pizza in a variety of toppings and flavors that you can't find in most places, and Second they use fresh, really-high quality mostly organic ingredients.
It's *hands down* my favorite pizza place in town. Well, ever. I'm so in love with its food I'd marry it if I could, it's so good. Unlike the pizzas found everywhere else (there's a LOT of pizza places around here--it's a college town), each and every variety has its own unique flavor. Instead of a Supreme pizza which tastes just like Cheese with more toppings on, or Pepperoni which tastes just like Cheese with pepperoni on it, they have toppings like Seafood pizza, Brie cheese, Zuchinni, Potato, Eggplant, Pesto, Margharita... each and every one tasty and delicious! (They also have more "normal" toppings like cheese and pepperoni) You can really taste the quality in their ingredients--the flavors just jump out at you from freshness. They also have pizza on whole wheat crust, and serve a Vegan pizza which is actually really yummy(it's my sister's favorite) even for people who eat meat. Their crust is real italian-style crust, tasty and a little bit crispy. The best way to describe it is that it's like pizza made on artisan bread.
They serve whole pizzas as well as personal pan pizzas and pizza by the slice. I haven't tried their soups or salads yet, but they also have organic vegan chocolate chip cookies and Italian donuts (called "bombes") as well as bread and calzones. Their desserts have fillings like custard and real Nutella, and are quite good as well. Besides the regular selection of pop, they also have an assortment of organic juices and nectars.
The other reviewer was right that you'll find a lot of Italians there. The owners are Italian and one of them worked in a bakery and olive farm for 20 years in Italy, so they really know what they're doing. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for something tasty, authentic, and maybe a little different, or even just high quality pizza. I've taken lots of friends there and they've all agreed it's the best pizza they've ever eaten. Of course, if you're looking for the standard American grease-wagon pizza, you might not like it. Also, I'd probably recommend Silvio's more to people who love New York (thin crust) and Cali (fresh incredients) style pizza over those who favor Chicago style (thick crust and large amounts of rich toppings). Best pizza I've ever had... ...and I usually hate pizza.
Before trying the pizza at Silvio's, I had a very low opinion of what was commonly available.
Silvio's is totally different than any other pizzeria. Each ingredient in every pizza is good enough to stand on its own. The owners also have a great knack for choosing flavor combinations and have some delicious unique pies: tuna/rapini, zuchini/feta, and eggplant/avocado/sundried tomato on whole wheat crust!
