Old-style Mexican
Tios is another Ann Arbor institution, making mexican food the same way for decades.

That means lots of lard, heavy on the cheese, and not a lot of quality ingredients. If you want something fresher, try Sabor Latino or La Fiesta Mexicana (in nearby Ypsilanti).

However, Tios does deliver -- almost your only option besides pizza -- are open very late (4 am?), and have an amazing collection of hot sauce: Ask for the bucket of hot sauces, and enjoy some excellent experiments with your meal. Hot sauce tastings are provided once per month.

Atmosephere is a mix of greasy spoon and diner. Service is functional. If you like hot sauces, it's worth a visit.    [01 Dec 2003 19:44:29]
