Bistro survives first year with smiles and 'war stories' - The Detroit News, By Molly Abraham, 28 January 2002; Kipp and Susan Bourdeau looked at some 30 locations before they found it -- the building on the corner of Auburn and Squirrel roads in Auburn Hills. The area's attractive demographics -- the affluence and sheer size of the potential customer base -- and the spacious corner property, which included a big parking lot, combined to make them look at each other and say, "We'll take it." Former owner Patrick Elwell could hardly recognize the place after three months of construction. The restaurant known as Patrick's, which offered traditional American fare, was completely gutted and redesigned. Its former square shape was turned into a circular main dining room, done up in French blue and cream, with knotty wood partitions recalling the wooden crates once used to ship wine from Europe. Dictionary definitions of "bistro" were lettered on the walls. - suggest change

beef and blue cheese My husband and I had an absolutely phenomenal evening. The beef tenderloin with blue cheese was out of this world - the free apple martini was outstanding - and I don't usually like martinis! Romantic and special, we'll be back. [26 Sep 2004 14:21:33]

Wonderful! We had the Viking Pork Tenderloin - stuffed to perfection, and the Blackend Prime Rib - Wow!
The Buffalo Shrimp were out of this world.
I will eat here often, and bring my Mom too!

Simply excellent Delighful atmosphere, excellent service, a truly pleasurable experience. Best wine list that I have seen for a good while. The Cakebread is not to be missed. I have to say I struggled to make but one choice from the menu - all appealed. It's worth that extra mile to come to such a superb establishment [13 Apr 2006 11:58:36]
