Forget Retro; Bring Back the Decent Food
The Starlite used to be the place to go if you wanted a good Seafood Platter. Though I could have lived without the smelt (too fishy) they offered scallops which few places do. They also had great fish'n chips and burgers.

Since the remodel, the seafood platter is gone, boy was I disappointed. I thought okay, get the fish. THAT consisted of two skinny "logs" of dried out fish- not the plump filets you used to get, I couldn't even eat it. Long working hours, I depend on their-drive thru burgers. Suddenly they can burn a burger all to hell. Get rid of the son, bring back Dad, and get some decent food generating again.

I also talked to a friend of mine who has frequented the place several times since the remodel (and handing down of ownership ?) and he doesn't have one (1) good report and he used to be a faithful customer.    [24 Jun 2006 01:53:01]

They Listened and Brought Back The Food
After the remodeling and the long awaited reopening of Starlite our family was very disappointed. But, apparently we were NOT the only ones. The word reached the ears of the owner and he went back to the good old gravy and fries of yesteryear, along with reverting other dishes back also. MOST VALUE FOR QUAILTY!!!!!!!!!
I start my saying, most people miss the point. This family has had previous successfully restaurants. We have followed them to many locations. Food was never the issue hands down, the best because they treat you like family and mean it. I think it is a testament, why they have been in business for over 40 years. They don't compromise on quality in my opinion the best cheeseburger in the U.S.; it reminds me of my childhood.    [10 Jan 2008 19:52:08]

First time visitor
I live out west where rattle snake and rocky mountain oysters are the menu. While visiting in your area I was exposed to the famous Coney Island hot dog. I must say Starlite coney dogs are by far the best. I look forward to visiting again. The service was great and friendly.
