Authentic Food
Good food. We are often the only non-Indian people eating here. Good variety of dishes on the buffet. Could use more appetizers - usually only one type.

I love hot-- they bring you out the hot tandoori chicken still sizzling. It's good too. I like this place better than the other Indian places in Canton. It's much busier as well. I wish the dishes were described in English as well.    [30 Sep 2005 13:15:44]

Very good Indian restaurant
This is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. It caters to Indian people, as one of the other reviewers noted, so many times we found ourselves the only non-Indian people there.

They have a lot of parties in there with loud music. Regardless, the food is excellent and service just fine.    [31 Dec 2006 12:21:02]

Okay - My husband and I went there for dinner one evening on a Friday. The waiter took our orders, brought poppadoms and did.not.come.back. for over 65 minutes. Finally our entrees came and mine was cold. I don't know what the heck was going on there but it was completely unacceptable, especially the service. No parties there please
Food's good, not authentic by any means but as authentic as Indian food in the USA gets.
We planned a birthday party for my kid there and a week before the party they called and asked us if we could move the date! I also heard belatedly from a few friends that $$$ speaks there and if they get a bigger order /client that's where they will go.
They did accomodate us in a separate room with booths, it was ok but the space for buffet was limited and our presents were hanging out in the main area and overall was a bad experience, if you have to book a party with them, make sure you repeatedly tell them to not double book. Oh, also they switched appetizers on us and I did check with the other party in the big party hall who booked after us so there it was no mistake. We paid almost $600 for 30 people (including kids) so extremely pricey for bad service.    [14 May 2007 16:40:37]

I think that Ashoka has wonderful food. Although my husband didn't enjoy as much as me and is a very picky eater even he said, Hey let us go to that Ashoka place again. Keep up the good work.    [04 Nov 2007 09:36:50]
