Fantastic!!!
I live 2 1/2 hours from this place and I can't stand it! I have been there three times and I think it is the best food I have ever had. Perfection is the only way to describe it. I dined with three other people each time and everyone thought the food was superb.    [17 Aug 2005 14:28:06]

The worst ever
I have never experienced a nightmare like dining at the Blue Moon in Saugatuck. My steak was a piece of fat puncuated by bits of tough beef. The chicken penne was made with dark meat. The buckwheat noodles were saturated with soy sauce to a point of being inedible. The "legendary" twice baked potato was a cheese encrusted potato soup, and the lime cilantro salad dressing was basically oil with a dash of lime juice. But this was just the icing on the cake. The owner has got to be the most obnoxious person I have encountered to date. When we complained about the noodle dish being too salty, he had the nerve to tell us he tasted it off our dish and it was fine. Perhaps in his obviously limited culinary experience. My family lives in Saugatuck and dines out nightly. You can bet we will never again be treated to the horror that is Blue Moon bar and grille.    [25 Mar 2006 17:50:01]

Excellent!
We have had some great meals here. We are from Chicago, but have a second home in the Saugatuck area. We go to many great places in Chicago, and Blue Moon definitely is right up there with those in the 'big city!'

For starters, if you are seafood fans, try the seafood appetizer that includes many different items to try. It is huge and totally worth the money (can easily feed 4).

I've had the buckwheat noodles several times and have loved them each time. Service is always top notch. Great wine selections, FANTASTIC lounge/bar area and also a fantastic patio for outdoor dining (covered on the rear patio, open-air on the front patio).    [25 May 2007 13:17:05]

A 22-year old manager with an Attitude!
We have been to the Blue Moon on several occastions as we spend most of our summers in Saugatuck. I have never been treated as rudely as last Sunday during "brunch".

There were a total of three occupied tables when we came in. We ordered drinks and then the waiter came to take our order. After that we did not see him for about 1/2 hour. I had to hunt him down to get another drink order for the table. Forty-five minutes later and after the place cleared out, we finally got our food. I ordered Eggs Benedict and they were hard-boiled. I sent them back and did not get a replacement dish until after everyone in my party had finished their meal. Coffee??? No refills here. Our waiter was too busy talking to the female waitresses in the back room.

We summoned the manager and then it got ugly. We told him of our problems and that I was on medication that required me to eat within 15 minutes of taking it. I waited until the food came to take it, but unfortunately had to send it back. By the time my food was served, I was already woozy. The gentleman we were with told the manager to take my entree off the bill. His response was, "I'm the manager and I'll tell YOU what I'm going to do, you don't tell me!"

We are professional people (Retired Judge, currently lead attorney for a Fortune 500 company, PhD in Nuclear Chemistry, Master Degreed Director of Personnel (retired), Registered Nurse. Need I say more? If the place were filled with customers, I wouldn't have had a problem, but we were the only guests in the restaurant. We did frequent the Blue Moon about 2-3 times per month. We're not fly-by-night tourists that you may never see again. Well, maybe now you may never see us again.

Frank.....hire some mature adults with a little knowledge in customer service. Oh, and fire Drew, he's ruining your business.    [22 Aug 2007 01:48:39]

The best I've experienced!
It's New York in Michigan. The ambiance is an experience in itself. The food presentation is outstanding. We had the Black & Blue Steak and a special of fish over what appeared to be a thin waffle creation, excellent! Highly recommended eatery.    [11 Sep 2007 09:10:11]
