We were anxious to sit, relax & eat! We asked one of the security personnel (they must eat somewhere nearby) at DeVos Place for any suggestion for a reasonably priced (we thought would be hard to find nearby) restaurant within walking distance of DeVos Place & Amway Plaza.
He highly recommended The Bull’s Head located right across the street! I have never been too lucky with recommendations. But…not much more walking & not too many other options!

We were promptly greeted and seated upstairs in the non-smoking section that nicely overlooks the main floor. We were thinking it was quite noisy and service was slow to start. We were beginning to think we were invisible.
Finally a waiter arrived, very pleasant & answered all of our questions. I don’t usually ask the cost of a mixed drink, but I did this time. We were traveling on a bit of a budget. I did not want to get the bill to find an $8 drink charge. The waiter politely explained that they cater to locals as well as visitors and we would find the food and beverage prices to be quite reasonable. (Unfortunately we are not sure of his name but we started to refer to him as “Chuck”. He looked like a “Chuck”.)

We ordered a Greek Salad ($7). “Chuck” immediately offered to split it for us. Salad & toppings, Artichoke Hearts, Kalamata Olives, Tomatoes, Bermuda Onions, Feta Cheese, & Croutons were of generous proportion, served with a little loaf of bread. I ordered a Southwestern Chicken Salad Wrap, with tortilla chips, salsa & pickle spear ($7). Worried the chicken would be over gooooked with the chipolte mayo…but pleasantly surprised....just enough to flavor & moisten. My friend ordered the Rueben with pickle spear and homemade potato chips, which she was pleased with($7). Before receiving the order I was wondering how the portions & presentation would be...again..pleasantly surprised. For about $15 each, including a good Manhattan.. and a Strawberry Daiquiri. I didn’t even finish my wrap, I took half of it to go.

Slow start …but the nice waiter and food made up for it. Oh, the live entertainment was good, too!
We had to eat at TGI Fridays on Sunday because The Bull’s Head is closed. TGI Fridays...a disappointing lunch in comparison to dinner @ The Bull’s Head.
Thanks to "Chuck" & the staff at The Bull's Head!    [09 Mar 2006 15:00:36]
