Decent, but not the best. A competing buffet is better, but this ranks a close second. The dessert tray is lacking; otherwise decent selection, service and ambience. [02 Feb 2005 15:53:38]

BAD FOOD BAD SERVICE The food was very greasy and bad. I had the buffet so I got to try almost everything. When I was putting food on my plate the owner came and told me that I was taking too much and I should leave his restaurant. I have never seen such a thing before. It was BAD BAD. Ever heard of a phone? The food has always been good, service is fast, and prices are better than their competitor for comparable quality. However, if they have a phone why don't they answer it or at the very least have an answering machine? I like to get take out but I've called several times during normal business hours and gotten no answer. Of course I still frequent the restaurant because the food and prices are great, but it's a little inconvenient to wait in the restaraunt; I'd rather call in an order and have it ready for pick up. Otherwise, service is as good as the food. [12 Dec 2005 19:32:10]

Probably Not Going back. My girlfriend and I decided to go out and eat at Hunan Garden. I eat Chinese frequently and decided on the buffet. My girlfriend was indecisive for a while looking at the menu and the owner came over and suggested that she get the buffet also because, "You can try whatever you like, a much better choice". Sad to say it was not a better choice at all.
The food must have been sitting there for hours at least. Everything was super dry and cold. The orange chicken, fried rice, lo-mein, crab rangoons, etc, etc. The food was horrible, and I will never ever be getting the buffet from here again. I only went up 3 times and about about 1/3 of what was on my plate each time.
The service was poor. I ordered a soda pop with my dinner, he never came back once to ask me if I would like a refill on my soda and there were only 3 tables in the place, including ours. Also he let our used plates stack up on our table, which is not good etiquette. He left them there until it was about time to go when we were the only table left in the place. My girlfriend also ate about the same amount as I did. To say the least we were very unhappy with our meal.
So when we went to pay my girlfriend ask him if they rotate the stuff on the buffet and mentioned that a lot of the stuff tasted really old, dry, and cold. And he insisted that they change them. He offered no apology or anything.
It ended up costing me $23 for the meal, and I don't believe it was worth $10. My girlfriend and I have decided it will be a very long time before we go back. The most annoying thing is we are weekly repeat customers and that is not how you should treat reoccuring service. [03 Feb 2006 20:44:59]
