Best smoked ribs in Michigan - smoked over applewood, and perfect even without sauce. The baked beans and cole slaw are homemade and are wonderful as well. Very friendly, personal service, and an outstanding meal!    [13 Nov 2004 21:15:38]

OMG! Now This Is BBQ!
I've eaten BBQ all over the country and this tops my list of the best of the best. I wouldn't be surprised if this place was somewhere in the south but northern Michigan? Wow! The Ribs are to die for.

The sauce is wonderful, but you don't need it. They like you to try one without their sauce. The rest of the meats and side dishes are delicious also. The place is off the beaten path on the "poor" side of town near the ship yards, but worth the short journey away from the tourist traps. It's old and funky but clean as a whistle. The sevice is the kind you get when the owner waits on you and does it with a great big smile. They have a guest book signed by people from all over that return year after year for this sumptous food.

If you consider yourself a BBQ expert, you aren't finished with your own list until you've had this BBQ.
