Description
Casa Calabria is one of 17 restaurants owned and operated by members of the Johnson and Barbiere families. Located throughout Wisconsin and Northern Michigan, the first of the family restaurants was opened in 1956 in Milwaukee by Tony Barbiere. Since then, 16 other restaurants have been added to this unaffiliated chain, with the most recent location opened on 1998 in Greendale, Wisconsin. Casa Calabria and the Villa Capri in Marquette and Mama Mia's in Ishpeming along with the other 13 restaurants in Wisconsin have continued offering customers superb Italian food and service for over 46 years. Serving Southern Italian food using recipes developed by Johnson and Barbiere families, the Casa has become known for its signature dishes, our most popular menu item, lasagna, a famous meatsauce, a varied assortment of steak and chicken dishes and our baked fresh daily garlic bread. Casa Calabria has always believed in giving back to the community.

An Italian There's two great Italian places in Marquette. Many people claim that the Casa is the better of the two. They're both good, but in my opinion, the other place has the extra subleties to create a truly special dining experience. My meal at Casa Calabria was delicious, relaxing, and enjoyable. BUT, it failed to endear me to giving it the #1 spot. [02 Feb 2005 17:56:13]

The Best Having lived in Marquette my whole life, I would have to say that the 'Casa' is the best Italian food experience in the UP. No arguments no discussion, it is simply the BEST. It has better ambience, food and wait staff than the rival. Eating the garlic bread is a zen like experience. Anything on the menu is a must eat. [23 Jun 2005 15:15:06]
