Can't say enough good things... I have dined here many times and have had alomst everyting on menu, definitely all desserts on menu (for the past two years). Everyting tastes as good as it looks, the presentation is an artwork in itself. You must try the terrine of the day, they are mouth watering. I can't say enough good things about any duck dish, or warm chocolate truffle cake. Don't forget to begin your adventure with a glass of champagne. Don't forget to try the house specialty drink, the bartender's own creation. Enjoy! [10 Apr 2002 20:14:13]

Don't do it - Save your money and time I really don't know understand all the hype about this restaurant, but I've had the blessing of dining all over the world and the entrees at this restaurant are consistantly over-dressed, overpriced and poorly prepared. On my last and final visit, the service was needy as well. I highly recommend another choice. [19 Dec 2002 20:20:01]

Management Rocks Well I was at Five Lakes Grill. I was able to have a great time and I enjoyed the manager (Mellisa) who picked out a wonderful wine for me and my guest. Overall the place was wonderful. [25 Mar 2003 23:49:00]

Not on a weekend! I was disappointed with our dining experience last night (2-28-04). We had reservations for 8:00 pm. We sat in the crowded bar until 9:50. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. However, our food was disgusting! I ordered lamb shank. We started the evening with an appetizer of calamari, which was very tough and tasteless. Our salads were decent. We finally received them at 10:30. Our entrée’s finally arrived at 10:50.
Our server quickie them off and scurried away to wait on her other customers. There was no shank to my lamb. I was served was a plate of cold tough beans and some dried out and I MEAN DRY small pieces of lamb. I swear it was the crumbles at the bottom of the pan. They were just little morsels and pieces of meat. Our food was served cold!
My friend ordered duck. Her sweet potatoes were cold. I finally snagged our server and told her- There was no way that I was going to eat this meal. She said,” I don’t blame you. Do you want another entrée or look at the menu for something different? " I said “I doubted that they had any lamb shank left, judging by the dried up scraps that I was served.” I looked at my watch and it was well after 11:00 pm, I told her to forget it. I have waited far too long to eat. After we paid our bill, the server suggested that we come back on a weeknight. She said the weekends are just too hectic. So, am I to perceive that your food is only good during the week?
I also was disturbed that the manager was too busy to be bothered to address my problem. My special evening was a waste of time filled with anger and resentment. Our bar bill was $45.00 and our meal bill was $150.00. (The server deducted $16.99 for the lamb shank.) Therefore, we paid out $190.00 for a disgusting meal and a miserable memories of eating at an over rated restaurant in Milford. Oh by the way, I had to stop at the drive through at Wendy’s to eat a decent meal.
Maybe your people should learn how to take reservations. You should also make sure that the quality of your food remains consistent. I am sure the lamb shanks that were served earlier in the day were wonderful. However, what I received was only fit for a dog.
I am soooooooooo disappointed. We wasted time, money and gas. For what! So I could eat at Wendy’s.
What a shame!

Don't believe the hype It started off on the wrong foot when they made my date and I wait 30 minutes in a cramped lobby despite the fact we had reservations. Once seated, the service was good. Some of the bread was burnt. The dinners (whitefish and salmon) were well presented and flavorful, as was the dessert. That was the highlight. However, based on the reviews I was expecting an overall experience on par with other "top 10" metro-Detroit dining establishments. Although good, 5 Lakes Grill is NOT in the same class as The Lark, Tribute, Rattlesnake Club, etc. Thus overall it was somewhat of a disappointment... As an added bonus I found a nice wad of chewing gum on my rear windshield upon returning to my car. [29 Apr 2005 23:56:01]

Don't waste your money or time I was very disappointed in the service and the food. The bread and calamari were very good, but out entrees were cold and the brisket was absolutely awful. I don't understand how they could even serve it.
The service was so bad that we went across the street for dessert and coffee. Way overrated and you would think that a restaurant with white table cloths could afford to have the linens laundered rather that using the annoying paper covering which keep catching to my jacket sleeve. We will not go back. [17 Oct 2006 13:50:44]
