Casual quick drink or lunch A casual neighborhood hangout with a nice patio during the summer (which I would recommend if you value oxygen since the bar area is rather smoky). Basically a place for a couple of drinks and a snack if you are meeting a few friends. [23 Jun 2003 11:58:29]

Best Place to Frequent in Town! I love this cozy bar/restaurant! It is a great place to gather with friends and to get a great bite to eat. The staff is great and it is nice to see the owners mixing with the customers. [26 Jan 2004 18:25:01]

I tried the BBQ ribs... very tasty.. the only thing bad was the waitress kept bringing over food for other tables Therefore the service and management seemed poor. Great food, just needs more heads up when it comes to the staff and mgmt. [25 May 2004 13:08:55]

Best Burgers in Town This is by far my favorite place to go in Northville! It's a great place to hang out with friends or watch the game. And the food is excellent! The waitstaff is very attentive and friendly. [02 Nov 2004 10:52:43]

Overpriced Mediocrity This bars only saving grace is it's outdoor patio set amidst charming Northville. If it was located anywhere else it would have gone the way of Crystal Pepsi long ago. The food is overpriced and when and if you do get what you ordered it is not very good. I have tried several items on the menu and none have satisfied my simple tastes. From dry chicken to bland burritos they cover the spectrum. Poole's has the chance to be a great, quaint spot if only they overhauled their menu and expanded their beer list. But considering the current management this will not be soon [26 Jan 2005 14:53:26]

Great place Pooles is the best place in Northville. The young chef that looks like he is 12 is the best night cook there, go visit and try the ribs and burgers! Great food and a nice and cozy spot to hang out and have a brew or two. [28 Mar 2007 08:29:04]

Quick Service and Great Fish & Chips I had previously been in Poole's only for an after-work, during the week drink. I stopped by at about 8pm on Friday and the place was packed - including the patio. It was busy and noisy. I expected to wait 30 minutes or more for a table, but by the time I elbowed through to the bar and got a beer the hostess was ready to seat my party of two.
I went with the fish and chips and I have to say that it was really quite good. Good cruchy crust, hot but moist fish inside the breading - almost the perfect variety of textures for this meal. The waitress was around quite often, we got our check promptly but never felt rushed. The only part I wasn't crazy about was the chips. Their own style of shaved and fried potato chip, it was neither especially tasty or crunchy. I would have rather had well cooked french fries. I wish I could report on another dish but my dining partner switched to fish and chips when I ordered. [24 Jun 2007 13:07:41]
