Went back again
I like to try different places on the road, but passing through town the second time, we couldn't pass by Syl's. We got there late in the evening the first time and HAD to order the pasties with gravy. Great crust, just the right amount of ingredients. (most pasties downstate have WAY too much onion) Two days later we stopped for the blueberry pancakes and they were fantastic too. No problems at all.    [11 Jul 2005 13:52:54]

Home cooking at it's best!!
We recently ate breakfast at Syl's and didn't have to eat again until night. The food was tasty, plentiful and the staff pleasant and helpful. We want to go back the next time we're in the UP and have dinner there.... Neat place.    [20 May 2006 10:50:49]

A Pasty Inspector from Cornwall...
We had two wonderful meals at the Cafe. The food was good and the service was excellent. We went to the cafe because we saw the sign for pasties and being from Cornwall we had to have a Geek (look) as we do say here. Yummy Pasties
Have had various pasties through out the U.P. and my own. I had the beef pasty here and thought it was the best I'd ever had. It came with a hefty portion of good fresh coleslaw too.    [20 Aug 2007 13:26:06]
