Good, but not great
I have been to Beirut Palace on a few separate occasions. While the food and the ambiance are good, they aren’t great either. I am a vegetarian, so I have only sampled the non-meat dishes. The hummus is very mild- I prefer stronger hummus. While the tabuli is excellent and the pickled veggies are superb, the falafels and grape leaves left me feeling short-changed (perhaps some more garlic would do the trick). The raw juices are delicious, but so are all the raw juices I have tried at all the other restaurants.
Beirut Palace is great if you’re in town- but nothing to go out of the way for.    [22 Jun 2006 15:47:18]
