Excellent experience/ Affordable menu I've been going to Boone's for over 10 years now. Having a cottage in Interlochen (about 20 minutes away) I make a point of stopping by the old steak joint for at least one great meal when I'm up there. The steaks are juicy and delicious and a select few are huge if you're feeling really hungry. The snow crab and lobster slide right out of their shells and melt in your mouth Crispy cold shrimp cocktail is a great starter and a fully stocked bar along with excellent wine selections awaits you. An excellent vareity of appetizers/soups/salads are available also and the friendly staff make sure you're taken care of really well. Highly recommended. Expect a wait of about 1/2 to an hour on weekends and in summer months. Patio overlooking the lake and live music in summer months. [25 Jan 2005 15:11:53]

Quality has declined/service still good Boone's used to be THE place to take folks from out of town. The atmosphere is still pleasant and has an up-north feel. I'm sorry to say they are "off the list" now. The last two times we've visited, we ordered Filet Mignon and New York Strip - both cuts were poor and not cooked to our liking. We had a family gathering for the holidays and not one person was happy with their meal. [09 Sep 2005 13:12:51]

Best Value in the North Wow!! Great Food, Huge Portions. I felt like it was 2 for 1 night. I took home lunch for the next day. My wife was really happy with her petite filet, cooked perfectly. The perch is outstanding. [13 Oct 2005 00:05:56]

3 meals for the price of one I have been to dinner here twice, during summer high season (July). There's always a wait, regardless of whether you call ahead, but often entertainment on the deck helps pass the time. Check out the old aerial photos of the locality: very entertaining.
For a big tasty hunk-o-meat, with lots of potato, and veg as a pleasant afterthought, this is the place to go when up north. Last time, I got the smallest prime rib portion, ate heartily, and took the leftovers home for lunch the next day...and the day after. Yum. The restaurant is noisy, but calms down a lot after about 7 or 7:30.
The hostesses at the desk are sometimes rude and often clueless, but once you get past them, all will be well: the wait staff are spectacular, always attentive and friendly, never harried, though they certainly have the right to be.
The decor is nicer in the main dining room (to the left as you enter) than in the addition, to the right, which is rather generic-looking. The bar is pleasant and the drinks strong. The house wine is a bargain. All in all, a nice place to go to refuel after a tiring day of recreation at the lake. Just make sure you have a good workout planned for the next day.
