What a joke! Where do I start. My wife's Birthday (Sept 10) we went to Ciatti's. I work at Biaggi's in Eden Prarie, I'm a manager there, so I know what Italian is all about. I recommend something to my wife's friend, a saltimboca something. When our food comes out hers, doesn't. When our server comes out he says "they" forgot it. Not owning up to the fact that he forgot to ring it in like his manager tells me. So he tells us he'll buy one drink for us. I then explain, the woman whose food he forgot isn't drinking. He soon panics, and leaves to find his manager. The manager disapointed the most. He then comes out telling us he'll buy a round of drinks, the food our friend never got, and an antipasto. We ordered 2 more drinks for the ladies, those took 10 minutes, and when he brought them out he said "sorry for taking so long these 2 will be comp'd too. By this time we were ready to just end this experience. Then we got our bill. Which by the way was a very confusing bill. It listed everything we ordered then a discount of $32. The cost of the Saltimboca, and free B-Day cake. (thanks?). So I grab the manager once again and said this is wrong, and not what you told us you were doing. When he came back the bill still had the round of drinks the manager said he would pay for. He did nothing, absolutly nothing for the woman in our party who ordered the Saltimboca, never got it and was not drinking. I mean come on, let's comp things for the people at the table who didn't have problems, and ignore the ones who never got the food. Not a very smart way to run a restaurant. The poorest way I've seen a manager handle problems at a table in my life! P.S. Tell the kitchen the few items we actually recieved were excellent. [11 Sep 2003 04:44:49]
