Award-winning Executive Chef Mike Engel opened The Winds Steakhouse in April 2000 to provide top-notch dining in a warm, inviting environment. As guests enter The Winds, they are welcomed with a view of more than 130 wines, prominently displayed in a beautiful oak rack. In addition to its extensive wine list, The Winds is known for offering fine cuts of beef, seafood and original selections. Signature items include an 18-ounce rib eye served with house-made peppercorn demi glace, a 30-ounce Porterhouse steak with maitre'd butter and the Winds salad -- a unique combination of fresh strawberries, pears and field greens tossed with a roasted apple vinaigrette and served with candied walnuts and Gorgonzola croutons. Located at Grand Casino in Hinckley, The Winds caters to a wide range of guests for fireside dining including vacationers, guest from the Twin Cities and surrounding communities, casino visitors, brides and grooms, golfers just off the Grand National course an snowmobilers just off the trails.
