My Kids Learned How to Play Chess Here
When my twins were small we used to go to the Coffee Hag just to hang out, play chess and checkers, spend time. I'd haul them there on a trailer on the back of my bike, a convenient waystation between their daycare and our house about two miles away. They would order hot chocolate and I would sip some much-needed coffee.

I don't go there much anymore, mainly because we've moved further away and the twins are now teenagers—the last thing they want to do is hang out with their parents.

Anyway, I have fond memries of "the Hag" and how well Lisa and Patti always treated us, even when my kids would spill expensive coffee beans on the floor.    [22 Dec 2003 14:07:16]
